Preparing the artwork for your order:
Please use our design templates when designing your disc and packaging artwork. You can download the templates you need from our artwork templates page.
Other manufacturers may use different dimensions or requirements, so please double check the dimensions if you've used a template from an alternate source.
These are the only file formats we support:
Adobe Illustrator (AI)
Adobe Illustrator (EPS)
Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
CorelDraw (CDR)
TIFF (TIF)
If you send us other file types or artwork that does not conform to our specifications, we might still be able to convert them but additional time and charges will apply.
All text elements must be converted to outlines/curves (including before saving as a PDF). If you send fonts with your artwork, additional time and charges will apply.
Any extra time required to convert incorrectly formatted artwork is in addition to the estimated time typical for your project.
Graphic elements such as logos or backgrounds placed or imported into the layout software listed above should have a resolution of 300dpi or higher at 100% size. For best results, avoid stretching a smaller image to fill a larger area. Save or convert your graphic elements in CMYK colour.
Be sure check for any spelling errors. Please include a high-resolution colour accurate print of each item so we have a visual guide for fonts and placement of graphical elements.
Please be aware that sample prints from a consumer inkjet or colour laser printer may produce noticeable colour variances compared to results produced with calibrated commercial printing processes.
If you need your CDs, DVDs, or packaging to closely match the colours used on other printed material such as brochures or sales folders, we recommend you provide us with samples of your desired colour, or printing parts of your artwork with a specific Pantone ink.
As part of our pre-press process, we will produce an artwork soft-proof and send it to you as a PDF email attachment. It may take up to 2 business days to process your artwork and produce the proof for your artwork. The PDF soft-proof allows you a final opportunity to verify the accuracy of your artwork.
Because of variances in manufacture, computer displays are not considered to be colour accurate, so colours displayed in the PDF soft-proof as viewed on your computer display may differ from the finished printed item. The PDF soft-proof is saved in low-resolution as the main purpose is only to ensure that text and graphic elements are placed where you intended, and not be a representation of colour accuracy.
If you feel more comfortable reviewing a printed colour proof, these can be produced at additional cost and time. Please request this when you place your order.
If after reviewing your proof, you discover errors or wish to revise your artwork, new files will need to be provided, and the prepress process begins again. Due to labour involved with checking and preparing the proofs for another set of artwork, additional charges will apply.
To ensure your satisfaction, we can only begin manufacturing your order when all artwork has been approved.
It is important that we receive a written confirmation of your acceptance of the artwork proof. Please send us a prompt reply by email or fax so that your order proceeds into manufacturing without delaying the starting and thus the completion date.
